Random Question Thursday

Glory of the Snow, aka Chionodoxa, originally uploaded by toyfoto.

What's been bugging you?

I've been almost completely consumed with trying to find out what these little flowers, the first to really show up in spring here in the northeast, are called.

In some places they can appear as a carpet of blue.

I finally took this picture and asked begged the interwebs to tell me.

Thanks, Niall. I'll sleep better tonight ... (After I take an antihistamine, of course).

You should read your kids "Henry and Mudge in Puddle Trouble" (that should be underlined, but, well, you know...) One of the stories is about how they find a beautiful blue "Snow Glory" in spring. Our 4 and 2 year old love it.

Ooh, Bill, I love Henry and Mudge. Really charming and fun books.

I love a good flower mystery. Last winter, I had to find out these little bell-like white blooms that peppered our yard. I just love the idea of winter flowers...something to get us through til spring. Glad you got your answer.
