It can be sketchy to even mix brands because of different melting properties. ... If you see my pics on the right there are still whole crayons visible. I thought it added to the look of it when they cooled, but I can see how something like that might make a person crazy.
Another tip that people are telling me: If you're useing unbroken crayons and are having trouble getting the wrappers off, slit them with a sharp knife (it will save your sanity and your fingernails).

when I made them, they separated -- like oil and water. Ewwww. Do you think it is because I used some "washable" crayons and some regular?
