Game of Chicken ... with myself

You all know I'm going to be breaking into the old piggy chicken bank to buy a new camera right?

You know that invading the privacy of my children by taking copious pictures of them while they are still little and incapable of getting a restraining order is almost a pathological need for me.

You know I can't return to film (entirely) because it would unduly impinge upon the kids' future access to funds for a college education.

You realize the camera I end up purchasing has to be an upgrade from the one that bit the dust, and, with that in mind, I'm hoping my kids are bright enough to at least get some assistance for tuition in the form of grants.

Of course I won't be spending too much, right? I don't want them to HAVE to live on Ramen Noodles unless they want to. ...

You know that right?

*shrug*

Dear Stranger,
I really hope you get your camera very very soon...if not for your sake, for ours....

My husband apparently hates when I play games of chicken. He's already ordered me a new camera. A good one, too. More than I would have shelled out.

I was about to post a sympathy comment but I'm glad you're getting a great camera. My hubby won't even spring to take ours in to get the frame put together properly (it got dropped a couple of days ago). I think I'm going to have to buy my own and he can have the broken one ;)

i'm sending my TWO cameras (digital and film) in for repair, but i know it would probably be cheaper to replace them. it kills me how disposable these things are.

Please tell us what camera you will be purchasing. I'm at a camera crossroad. My point-and-shoot is broken and I am bored with my Rebel.

But can I justify getting something shiny and new?

The man got me the Nikon D300. I am nervous.

I'm jelus.

Verry jelus.

Another of my blogging friends is getting that same camera (or did this weekend). I guess I'm just going to keep salivating from afar and admire all your pictures when I can.
