We just had our first well-baby appointment at the pediatrician's office. Silas -- who weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces at birth and dropped a grand total of 8 ounces in the hospital, leaving the joint Friday weighing 5 pounds, 11 ounces -- has gained 10 ounces in just four days.
So yeah, he's bulking up.
The doctor again mentioned my breasts must be dispensing heavy cream. (She said this when Annabel came for her first well-baby visit, only two days after leaving the hospital, and had regained everything she lost, too).
I will have some serious things to say once I get back in action, however I couldn't resist posting this photo from the hospital, because it's hilarous and I serious wished I'd taken it. Sad but true.

LORD HAVE MERCY...Silas is singing love songs to the ladies already. Watch out Michael Buble!
"He has lots of dark hair on his head"...yeah, just a bit!
Adorable!!
I wish my milk was made of cream. Although my little guy just gained a pound in a week and the Breastfeeding Clinic said I should cut back on his supplementation. Turns out my husband had been giving him up to 4 ounces of formula during the night--*after* I had already breast fed. Oh well, made him sleep.
I don't usually overuse the periods, but..
oh.my.God.he.is.so.freaking.cute.
That face is priceless. Lauren (thingsicarry) took a picture of The Boss making what we call the "O-Face." Looks like Silas has the same proclivities.
Such a prodigy! Only a few days old and already the boy is singing himself to sleep!
This picture is the best! Ama Linda emailed it around and Josh and I got the hugest kick out of it. What an amazing boy you have!
And well done on the weight gain!! Charlotte and I could have used a bit more heavy cream during her first couple months!
See, that is exactly why you need lots of ice cream and cookies while you breastfeed. Also, doritos.
LOOOOORD he's cute. Have I said that already?
Hee hee! I just can't get over how perfectly beautiful he is. MY GOODNESS! I'm supposed to be biased toward my own children, but yours are GORGEOUS!
That face! What a sweet one.
Good job Mama!
Well done you! (and Silas)
This photo, no really it is this FACE, made my day.
thanks for sharing.
So who took the picture? (The hospital? Showing my ignorance of such things.)
Someone takes these at the hospital. It's like a service, only they charge an arm and a leg for the prints. We bought some wallet-sized photos and sent the rest back.
