Random (Rhetorical) Question Thursday

illuminating, originally uploaded by toyfoto.

How did I miss this on the first (second and third) walk-through?

And ... it's official. We own a second (primary) home. When it's renovated we will move ... and we will no longer be able to say we live in a barn. *sniff. *sniff.

congrats', are you going to completely gut the home or do the cosmetic thing? Paint, carpet...etc

when you get to the outside and you plan any concrete work let me know...I can at least come up with an accurate materials list which would help when accepting bids.

Later, Kcoz

Thanks, Kcoz. We are doing the pseudo-gut/mostly cosmetic thing.

We are ripping out carpet, stripping walls of wallpaper, putting in new wallboard in places and skimcoating other places (there's a mix of plaster and sheetrock. Changing some entrances and exits ... windows. Floors. Bathrooms. Of course we have to re-roof.

The good news is ... the insulation was done from the outside in recently and the clapboard is new. The furnace is also new.

An apple chandelier? That can only mean really good things are in store for you. Congrats.

But you will be able to say that there's an apple stuck to your light fixture.
