Random Question Thursday

I know, I know, I know ... Economy. Economy. Economy. Recession. Depression. Confession.

Aside from all that, what's been bugging you?

This has been bugging me.

I know ... it's all in good fun ... I get it IgetitIgetit ...

But in the end, it's still copyright infringement.

My husband did one of those, but he won't post it, he feels bad for using someone's photo.

Okay, I can't seem to load the page properly, so...what is it?

It's a facebook meme in which people look do a random search on Wikipedia to come up with a band name ... another random search to find an album title and then finally a random search in flickr to find a photo to swipe, paste all that info onto and reupload to facebook as your latest release.

I get that it's fun; I get it's not really for profit; but there's no instructions to ask the photographers' permission.

Thing is, I think ii IS fun. I like looking at the results. ... But I'd like it more if people used their own pictures or at least use photos licensed under creative commons.

The thing that bugs me most is the ad on your site that stretches across the page and usually blocks part of your pic! I don't know if it's just me, but it just recently started showing up like that.

GAH! In Firefox and Safari the ads are different and THEY get cut off. I just checked in Explorer and the ad goes straight across.

I should just get rid of the ads seeing as how I have no idea what I'm doing and I've not made enough just yet to even have the folks at Google Ads mail me a check.

I suppose I'm just holding out for the entertainment value of watching the meter tick up a few cents a day.

I did this and I totally didn't even think of this side of the coin. It just sounded like a really cool thing. Random wiki, random photo, random quote....but yeah, you're right.
